Texas Diesel Company is 22 miles northeast of Prosper — about a 28-minute drive to our shop in Van Alstyne. The drive is longer than for our closer service-area cities, but a meaningful share of our higher-end build and performance work comes from Prosper area owners who want specialized diesel expertise that’s harder to find closer to home.
Why Prosper residents come to us
Prosper has experienced extraordinary residential growth, and with it has come a strong diesel truck community — owners who treat their trucks as more than transportation, who do real custom builds, and who want shops that understand the full range of diesel work, not just basic maintenance.
The DFW-area diesel specialist landscape is thin. Several of our regular Prosper customers came to us specifically because the shops closer to them either didn’t do the kind of work they needed (DCR conversions, performance builds, hard-parts installation) or couldn’t diagnose complex issues without taking weeks. We typically have shorter wait times for specialized work than the larger metroplex shops, and we have the OEM factory diagnostic software in-house for all three major platforms.
Who we serve in Prosper
- Residential construction fleet — Prosper’s growth has driven sustained demand for diesel work trucks, and we keep many running
- Commercial development trucks — service vehicles, dump trucks, and crew haulers supporting the area’s commercial expansion
- High-end project truck owners — Prosper is home to a real diesel-enthusiast community, and we see plenty of build-out, performance, and custom work
- Commuter daily drivers — owners who use diesel as primary household vehicles
- Small business and trade fleets — landscapers, HVAC, electrical, plumbing companies running diesel service trucks
What we do
Full diesel repair and performance:
- Engine diagnostics and repair for all Ford Power Stroke generations, Cummins 5.9L and 6.7L, Duramax LB7 through L5P
- Transmissions — rebuilds and upgrades for Ford, GM, and Dodge platforms
- Performance hard-parts — fuel system upgrades, intake and filtration, hard parts (billet turbos, CP3 conversions, ARP studs). Tuning is a specialized domain we don’t do in-house — happy to point you to trusted tuners.
- DCR conversions for the 6.7L Power Stroke — the proven CP4 failure prevention (see DCR Conversion)
- Custom builds — lift kits (Rough Country through Kelderman/Carli premium tier), wheels and tires, full accessories menu
- Maintenance — full menu
For project truck owners, this is a working specialty for us. We’ll spec a build, source the parts, and install it correctly — and we’ll be straight with you about what’s worth doing and what’s catalog-driven hype.
Why Prosper owners make the drive
- Diesel-only specialization — every tech in the bay works diesel every day
- Ford / GM / Dodge factory diagnostic software for the work the dealer would otherwise handle
- Written estimates and transparent status updates — we walk through the diagnosis with you, share our recommendations, and keep you in the loop by text, email, or phone
- $215 shop rate, posted and consistent — competitive with metroplex specialty shops
- Warranty on parts
- Capacity for complex work — DCR conversions, full top-end rebuilds, performance builds, custom suspension
