Lift kits look different on every truck, and they have different scopes for good reasons. What we do at Texas Diesel Company is help you match the kit to what you actually do with the truck — daily driving, towing, off-road, or a combination — and install it correctly so it rides the way it’s supposed to.
We work with every major lift kit and leveling kit manufacturer, and we’re not locked into one brand. Dealer accounts with all of them means we can usually match or beat the advertised online price you’re comparing against.
Install scope
Final scope depends on three things: the kit you choose, the install time your specific kit calls for, and any supporting work (alignment, TPMS transfer, additional suspension components). Final pricing depends on labor, parts, and diagnostic findings — we walk through every line item with you before work begins.
Lift kit install time varies widely:
- A 6-inch Rough Country kit on an F-250 takes roughly 8 hours of install time
- A 6-inch Kelderman kit on the same F-250 calls for around 38 hours — because the Kelderman is a different-grade kit with much more involved install
Most manufacturers publish an hourly estimate for install, but those estimates don’t always track reality. We’ll give you our actual expected install time before the job starts.
Leveling kits are a smaller-scope job — install is usually 2 to 3 hours, sometimes longer if the kit includes rear suspension components. Alignment is separate.
Add-ons that affect the final number: TPMS sensor transfer, alignment, additional suspension components the kit calls for, and wheel-and-tire install if you’re doing all of it at once.
Which brand is right for you?
The first question to ask yourself: what will you actually use this for?
If the truck is primarily on-road — daily driver, occasional tow — you have a wide range of options and most major brands will hold up fine:
- Budget tier (good quality, won’t break the bank) — Rough Country, ProComp, Rancho
- Premium tier (stronger, more robust, more upgrade options) — BDS, Cognito, Kelderman, Carli Suspension
For the full list of parts and component brands we install across all our services, see Brands We Use.
Budget doesn’t mean low-quality — the difference at the higher tiers is usually materials (US-made vs overseas), geometry options, and how much engineering the kit has behind it. All of them hold up well when used as designed.
For serious off-road use, towing above stock GVWR, or competition, we’d steer you toward the premium tier. We’ll walk you through the tradeoff when you’re choosing.
Side-by-sides
Yes, we lift side-by-sides too — Polaris Ranger / RZR / General, Can-Am, Honda, Kawasaki. Call (903) 292-0400 or email sales@tx-diesel.com and we’ll get you a quote within 24 hours.
Price matching
If you find the kit online at a better price, bring us the link — in most cases we can match or beat it. Dealer accounts across every major manufacturer mean we usually have your configuration available with next-day delivery, even when local inventory doesn’t have it on the shelf.
The 500-mile retorque
Lift kits settle. Bolts that were torqued to spec at install will sometimes need a retorque after the suspension has cycled a few hundred miles under real-world load. We include a free 500-mile retorque on every lift kit we install — bring the truck back after a few hundred miles, we check every fastener, retorque what needs it. No charge.
Warranty
Any lift kit we sell, we install — and any kit we install carries the manufacturer’s warranty. If there’s ever an issue with the kit itself, we’re the shop that handles the warranty claim for you. No runaround.
Schedule your install
Call the shop or request an estimate with your truck’s year, make, model, and what kit you’re considering — or just what kind of ride you’re after, and we’ll make a recommendation. We walk through the options honestly, send you a detailed written estimate, and keep you in the loop through the install by text, email, or phone.
