Texas Diesel Company is 40 miles east of Gainesville — about a 50-minute drive to our shop in Van Alstyne. Gainesville is the westernmost city in our regular service area, and the drive is longer than for our closer cities, but we have a steady base of Cooke County customers who make the trip for specialized diesel service.
Why Gainesville residents make the drive
Gainesville and the broader Cooke County area have a strong working-diesel base — oil and gas operations checking on well sites, farms and ranches across the county, and small-fleet operators in trades and construction. The dominant use case is work trucks that need to be reliable, and when they break, they need to be repaired by someone who knows the specific failure modes of these engines.
What Gainesville doesn’t have nearby is a specialized diesel shop with OEM factory diagnostic capability for all three major platforms. The closest comparable specialty shops are in Denton, Fort Worth, or our shop in Van Alstyne — and for most Gainesville customers, the 50-minute drive east to us is the practical choice for shorter wait times and a working knowledge of the trucks they run.
Who we serve in Gainesville
- Oil and gas fleet — service trucks supporting oil and gas operations across the area, where downtime has real consequences and quick turnaround matters
- Agriculture — farms across Cooke County running diesel pickups, tractor support equipment, and grain haulers
- Ranching — cattle operations and the working trucks that support them
- Small fleet operators — trades, construction, landscaping with diesel service trucks
- Daily-driver owners — Gainesville residents whose diesel is the primary household vehicle
- Project truck enthusiasts — Gainesville has its share of diesel build owners
What we do
Full diesel repair and performance:
- Engine diagnostics and repair for Ford Power Stroke (6.0L, 6.4L, 6.7L, 7.3L), Cummins (5.9L, 6.7L), Duramax (LB7 through L5P)
- Transmission rebuilds and upgrades for Ford, GM, and Dodge platforms
- Performance hard-parts — fuel system upgrades, intake and filtration, hard parts (billet turbos, CP3 conversions, ARP studs). Tuning is a specialized domain we don’t do in-house — happy to point you to trusted tuners.
- DCR conversions for 6.7L Power Stroke (DCR Conversion) — the proven CP4 failure prevention, particularly relevant for owners who run work trucks hard
- Custom work — lift kits, wheels and tires, accessories
- Maintenance — full menu
For oil and gas fleet operators, we’ll work scheduled maintenance around operational windows to minimize downtime, and we keep common-failure-mode parts in stock for the platforms we see most often.
